On your point about how popular the pc is on this website. You could get away with your comments if this site didn't keep up with what forums are being created and with how many people are commenting on them making them hot topics. Compare the console threads and forums with the pc ones. No one seems to be commenting as frequently in the pc forum and no one seems to be creating topics that deal with the pc. If the pc was so popular on this site like you claim then its topics would dominate this site and make the hot topics more often. Click on your home page where it shows the hot topics and tell me how many do you see for the pc. -On your point #2 I said fable 1 was on the pc but it came 1 year later and it received the majority of its sales on the xbox. Even if WRPGs are popular on the Pc Fable is still heavily console based which many core Pc fans usually hate because they say it's dumbed down for consoles and doesn't have all of the features that they have come to expect in a wrpg on the pc. You brought up Fallout which is a perfect example. Fallout 3 was made with consoles heavily in mind. Ask any core pc fan what they thought about Fallout 3 when compared to Fallout 2 and most will tell you it was crap because it was dumbed down for consoles. |
Ahem. You're talking to a core PC fan. I own all the Fallout games except Fallout Tactics. I loved Fallout 3 except for GFWL. The game itself was very good and the user mods were highly impressive to the point where the modding community is still quite strong on Fallout 3. It's a very different experience to Fallout 2 and some will prefer Fallout 2 to 3, but definately not all. Whilst it may have been designed with consoles in mind, it retained some of the aspects that make PC gaming great, namely, the user mods.
On the first point, it's true that hardcore PC gamers aren't as prevalent as console gamers on this site, but I get the distinct impression a lot of gamers are both. A number of the Wii owners on this site for instance also game on PC because the Wii is a completely seperate experience to PC. Whilst they may game predominantly on one console, they also own a PC and will play games on PC.
PC is the one machine nearly everyone on the site owns, so even if it isn't their primary gaming device, if a game they want to play is available on PC and they don't own a 360, they'll play it on PC. Just because people aren't talking about it doesn't mean people don't own and play on it. Also, a lot of the threads are popular due to the console wars which PC really isn't part of. If you took that fanboy fodder out of the forums then the Hot Topics would be a lot quieter (& more civilised, lol) and I think you'd see a lot of threads about multiplat games on 360/PS3/PC.
