About 3D and rendering things twice and developers having to calibrate it and whatnot, I think all this will be a lot more hardware integrated than most think. I mean, you have an analog slider that let's you control how much of the 3D effect you want or even completely turn it off. The 3DS obviously has an architecture built around the 3D, which means there shouldn't really be much of a difference in potential graphics either using 3D or not.
