Edge doesn't like too.

And about Natal: "Based on today’s demos, the true appeal of Microsoft's 'full body controller' lies, as many will have suspected, in everything but the games."

They make a good point. That alone could be a huge selling point. Combined with ESPN it could be huge! Xbox Replay ftw.

OT: I'm not sure why having to have a surprise announcement in the presentation is still relevant. There are so many leaks these days it's almost impossible to keep surprises a secret.

Overall I thought they did what they needed to do. It was done well.

Maybe the press, who are mostly hardcore gamers, are feeling the future of gaming moving away from the games they grew up playing, and moving toward games for newer and/or mass market gamers.

I know that the day of single player RPGs is getting close to being done. MMOs are the future for RPGs.

(Maybe I'm just a little mad at the press after reading responses in live feeds to certain conferences. Some of the reporters have no respect for the developers or have a clue what gamers other then themselves want. )

But th ething you have to understand is that the crowd youre referring to, the "casual", dont pay their bills. They dont frequent blogs, websites, ad dollars.....thats like asking Fox News to endorse president Obama, these journalists are employees of a company, and theyre employees of a company that caters to a specific audience, what NEEDS to happen is there needs to be a company or organization perhaps who reports and blogs and dictates for a casual gamer, however is there a market for that?

Im not so sure we should expect our gaming websites to morph, they cater to "us", we need NEW websites and journalists to cater to the shift in demographic. Its tricky, thats for sure.
