Blame the greedy/corrupt governments of third world countries selling rights to their country's land/resources to corporations or other countries. If third world countries stood their ground and said fuck off to America/Russia/China (or whoever else wants their resources) then they could keep the resources and use them to benefit their own country.
People seem to think that American companies just somehow screw third world countries out of their resources, but really its the governments of these countries that are greedy and sell the land to companies (and don't share any of hte money with its citizens)
