And the era was notorious for crappy draw distances: Turok and Silent Hill spring to mind.  Goldeneye was above average for its time there, too.


A lot of PS1 games had faces that were less detailed, but shaped better. They didn't look like someone slapped a photo of a face on an oblong shape.

The thing is I don't mind the remake having shapes that look a little blocky. I don't expect them to spend $10-$20 million just to get all the top of the line effects and textures (even by Wii standards).



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
