There has always been a certain type of gamer who liked (J)RPGs.

However, those gamers are getting older and while not necessarily wiser, certainly more busy.  That meant less time for gaming.

The following generation of gamers tend to like games that have more action, so the slow pace of JRPGs was not to their likely.

In other words, those who grew up on JRPGs now real lives and those who play video games prefer FPS and Action-RPGs.

It's all about changing taste and demographics.

Yeah i guess this is partly true, i think its also that many JRPGs at the moment are according to reviews not very good and a lot of them dont seem to have changed. they still contain a lot of level grinding, and this can put people off like me who are busy nowadays.

the same thing can be said about MIkami's games, Resident Evil has declined from its PS1 days, and the other games hes involved with havent done that well. i think its just Japanese games have never been easy to market here, (Bayonetta, Devil May Cry) so JRPGs have had it a lot harder.

by the way can anyone reccommend any decent RPGs, Resonance of Fate??, Star Ocean 4??
