Therefore you can not say that this type of game will not sell well when there is no game like this on the Wii. Nor has third parties supported the Wii with a game or games that require the type resources to make this game. Secondly, you are on a sales site and yet you state a fallacy about the DS. Kingdom Hearts:358/2 has sold well in excess of a million units. It's a high profile game and yet it is and has been selling well. There are other high profile games on the DS that have also sold well. Look it up. |
No support attempt on the Wii?
First, there has been many games like the Call of Duty games, Okami, Scarface, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, MadWorld, Red Steel 1-2, Prince of Persia, etc... They're all not selling well (and it's even uglier when you compare their numbers with their HD console counterparts, which have a much smaller market share). You're telling me I'm posting fallacy, when you're conveniently omitting clear examples of attempts from third parties.
Secondly, you're stating exceptions and try to make them as a rule. There are of course some third party games that will enjoy a relative success. But they are nowhere near being the norm. Your mention of Kingdom Heart is rather petty in fact. When after 21 weeks in Japan only (as the game isn't even out elsewhere yet), a PSP title of that same series, Birth by Sleep, has already reached half of the number that 358/2 did on 3 territories during a full year. And as you can see from this here site's data, the PSP is completely outmatched by the DS when it comes to the install base.
Finally, a milion copies is nothing compared to the higher sale potential provided by the HD consoles. It's all in the site's data. Look it up.
