They really don't need an upgraded HDMI. The current HDMi can do 720p x2. Do you really think 360 (or PS3) can do higher res 3D at 1080p x2 for a retail title?
The thing is, MS has 0 money to make from 3D. They are not selling you 3000 dollar TVs. And the amount of people buying PS3's for 3D will be too low to even bother trying to get a piece of that pie. Thats the only reason why MS hasn't announced 3D gaming. 360 is perfectly capable of doing it...
