This means it'll sell huge amounts in Japan during the launch period, which in turn means that along with the obvious fact that it will be the successor to the best selling video game system of all time - there'll be plenty of Japanese support.
Also, I don't like Animal Crossing and this information does nothing for my wanting of a 3DS at launch.
