This is likely the case, more casual audiences don't tend to pre-order, and more casual Madden fans likely went to 360 this gen.
Same deal with Tiger Woods Wii vs 360 vs PS3. In preorders the Wii version is lagging hugely, but in actual sales it'll likely come out on top again.
