The British Army Basic Fitness Test requires you to do:
- as many press ups as you can in 2 minutes (min 30 for a pass),
- as many sit-ups as you can in 2 minutes (min 30 is a pass)
- a 1.5 mile run in under 10mins 30 seconds
so if you can do those, you meet the basic criteria for the British Army.
Doesn't sound so hard now does it? remember you have to do each one after the other, with only a few minutes rest in between. I like to make sure i can keep up with that even though i left the army a few years back.
Top number of press-ups without stopping: 150. i think i cried after.
