It will be a damned shame if Godfather's controls aren't used in some future game.   As for Scarface, I haven't played it yet.  I figured I'd wait till I beat some of the other games on my plate before I try that one.

I didn't care for Scarface personally. Partly because it's a hard game, and when it comes to the violent sandbox genre, I actually prefer the game be easier. But mostly I found it kind of boring. Managing a damn drug empire is such a pain in the ass. You have to manage heat from gangs and cops, reclaim all of the city, do pick up runs, buy coke, smuggle it across the border. The actual "story" missions are fairly pointless. They typically involve killing everything in sight, which tends to be an awful lot. The ending also just felt flat.

Still the shooting controls are excellent on the expert setting, and they're great camera controls too. You can use lock-on, but I found it mostly worthless compared to just aiming with the cursor. It does have some great ideas in general (some of which I think GTAIV is pinching) like you can hire a driver, then whenever you need a car, call him and he brings it right to you in second. And any car you have in your position. Pick the limo and he drives you home. Want to blow something up, tell him to bring the Hummer with the gun on top. Need guns? Check the trunk. Pick you favorite toys of destruction and refill you ammo. You can also send certain minions on their own missions, all though I felt there missions sucked as well.

As for the Godfather, EA quietly announced their making a sequel to the first Godfather game. Which system, and when they didn't say.
