I'm really tired of hearing people make some division between first and third party.

The Wii is, by all accounts, a more casual system; casual players are the definition of people who have no loyalty to any specific company.  I think the whole notion of brand loyalty is already overdone, but it's especially worthless with people who never pay attention to video game ads or blogs or news or magazines. Here's a question: how many of you are hardcore music fans too? If you aren't, can you name what labels produce popular bands today? Fall Out Boy? Maroon 5? Justin Timberlake? I bet you can't. And guess what? That's how most people are with games.

There is precisely one game produced by third parties on the Wii with a score over 90. One -- and it's a remake, the fourth remake in as many years, in fact. And yet, it's sold over 1 million copies and has already nearly triped -- tripled expectations.

I mean this: I have no idea why people draw some magical line between third and first party games. Most people do not even know what Nintendo is: people I help at Toys R Us frequently don't even know Nintendo makes the SYSTEM, let alone which games they make. It's all a smokescreen to make it appear that Nintendo has some magical power over people, when in fact it's simply that Nintendo is outperforming everyone else and no one has any idea what to do about it.

Figure it out. There is way, way too much money being made on the Wii here. Let me repeat what I said in my last post: Nintendo is going to easily outprofit the rest of the video game industry combined. Easily. If third parties honestly can't figure out how to handle the Wii, it's their fault. Simple.
