A lot of things that were tried in Sunshine or DK Jungle Beat showed up in refined forms in Galaxy. 

Ironically, those who decry the quality of some games I don't think ever give them a chance. I bought the GC last of the three machines from that generation. It is the only one I still play.

I don't know about Sunshine, and I may have to try it before making statements so slightly, but DK Jungle Beat is a lot of fun (not DKC level though) . I liked it better than WL: Shake it and I regret not playing it with the bongos.
