Honestly , I think you are being too negative about it. You say that only the die hard Sony fans might buy it, when it's according to you a Wii rip off. Then why buy a wii instead? The games announced so far seem promising, especially Heavy Rain, LBP2 and Socom (are these crappy games?). And most games CAN or could be played with a regular controller, but some are even more awesome with motion control (e.g. all the super mario games were great without it). How about waiting to judge Move after E3. It seems to me that you're not going to buy it no matter how many good games are announced. I always thought that there is no way I would ever buy a 360, but Natal seems very interesting, so I'll wait and see. There is no reason to call it an Eyetoy rip off without having seen what it can do and even if it is, it might be 10x better than Eye Toy and offer the most impressive games. |
How many different types of games can you make with a controller-less control scheme ?
I sure hope they've got a lot of creative juice in stock because they'll need it. It sounds just like Microsoft's Surface where they're trying to get rid of controls, as if a keyboard and a mouse suddenly became too unnatural or mundane. Translating human motions into controller input might sound like a great idea, but how far can they push it and adapt it to different gameplay situations?
Color me skeptical.
