Disruption is crappy products for crappy consumers. With the Wii Remote, it was all about growing the market. With Motion Plus, it's about moving upstream to better customers. This is also why Sony and Microsoft have to respond because it is their market Nintendo is after.
You are the consumer Nintendo is after right now. You don't like the Wii Remote because it isn't good enough for you. So, Nintendo tends to change that by upgrading the product and the software for it.
