The same thing was said about the NES when it was first launched, how it was a toy, how gaming PCs could do stuff better and bigger


Well the PC wasn't much to write home about back then (when the NES launched) with regard to gaming potential, but yes it was a toy likewise was the coleco vision I owned as a small kid playing Donkey Kong. I think a lot of people grew up with the NES.

Don't look at this as being something bad, the PS2 today is a cheap toy as well. Games and gamers have matured a lot (average age of gamers).
