Diomedes- do you have a complex or are you simply trying to be funny. Retailers aren't the only ones that stockpile. So does Nintendo. They increased to 1.8 miillion Wii's a month back in the summer, but they didn't ship that many. Now they are probably shipping 4 million worldwide in December, and 2 million the month before it, and the original 1.5 million in October. Which if ya do the math you'll get right about 20.5 million which is probably how much they wanted shipped by the end of 2007.
I can't here it anymore. Nintendo had no stockpile. They said it. It was september. Wiis need 20 days to the stores thats one month production. Nintendo won't ship 20 millions this year, mark my words :o)

I'm assuming you mean "hear". But if they had no stockpile then why is this site here. I could tell you exactly what Wii sales were if the stockpile didn't happen. As as soon as they ramped up production 1.8 million a month. Constant, and find out the percentage to each area and I could tell you exactly.

Now what's the main problem for this. Well one NPD sales don't fit that "constant" idea at all. Secondly neither do Media Create or Chart Track. Thirdly neither does this site. Fourthly neither does any corporations' policy. And finally economics doesn't even back that whatsoever.

As for 20 million this year I have no idea.  I just assume that they'd probably ship 4 million in the Q4 FY 08, and they plan on having about 24 million shipped by then.  It's only my rough guess which makes a lot of sense.
