Indeed, the iPad is very expensive and won't hit the volume that a Nintendo portable could hit but you have to keep in mind that all of Apple's iPhone based portables (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad) are basically the same platform when it comes to games just as the DS lite, DSi and DSi XL are all the same platform (basically).
