You can easily modify your wii to play downloaded games. I just modified my new one and it was a 4.2u, It's easy and works with all of them. You do have to pay about 20 for DVD's, but you'll get 50 DVD's so that'll last you quite a while even if you play a lot of wii and gamecube games. And you should have an sd card lying around somewhere anyway, right? It'll save you a ton of mone in the long run. I've probably saved thousands across all my systems doing this.
