Do you not know how to read an article?! It says that the ONLINE console market can quadruple, which is a but a tiny fraction of PC's HUGE online Revenue.

Read the article and what I wrote, because you missed some things:

In 2009, the entire games market was $41 Billion, out of them only $23 Billion was for Consoles+Handhelds (so domestic consoles were probably less than $20 billion in 2009) and PC alone was $13.1 Billion.

2009 according to Famitsu, PCGA crossover:
<$20 Billions on Consoles
$13.1 Billions on PC

What the article is saying is that DFC estimates that Console Games Revenue in 2015 will be even lower than in 2009. As the games are moving online, the retail will take a huge hit, just like what happened to PC. You gotta listen to the experts more, like Gabe Newell and Hideo Kojima.

1.  Here's the numbers in the article: 
-- total goes from 60b to 70b
-- PC online goes from ?? to 20b
-- console online goes from ?? to 4x??

You say that of 41b (pounds, actually 42b), PC was 13b and consoles (including handhelds) was 23b.  But where is the other 6b? 

Also, please don't use the dollar sign when you are indicating pounds, it's confusing and may lead to mixing the numbers which would be ... bad. 

2.  I don't see where the article concludes anything of the sort; in fact it says that the industry will be slow due to the impending end of this console cycle, "with most of the predicted growth occurring between 2013 and 2015."  Please show me where it says that the console industry will be smaller in 2015 than in 2009.  I think you may be misinterpreting lack of growth as actual contraction. 

3.  IMO, as long as console games are played from the disc online distribution will not be as prevalent as it is on the PC, where games get installed to the hard drive whether they are downloaded directly or from a disc. 

4.  Your soapbox doomsaying, (if this prediction happens) "Console Gaming will die", was completely unsupported regardless of the above.
