Any thoughts?

Maybe they just picked the games they enjoyed the most.

Is that really so bad?

Well yeah, then that's not really "Best 10 games of the year." That's "You're favorite 10 games of the year." "Best games of the Year" are supposed to show you can look outside of your self. For example i'm not a fan of Halo games. It would still be on my "Best Games of the Year" list... and quite high.

What would the point of all 10 editors doing their own 10 best games list be if they were all supposed to be the same? Of course they were supposed to be subjective personal 10 best games lists.

They don't have to be exactly the same but they should still show some "loooking outside of yourself." It's basically what you are supposed to do in an industry when you have a magazine like that. I mean it's like Game reviews. You are reviewing the game. You arn't saying how much YOU enjoyed it. It's how much you think other people will enjoy it. I don't think it's a conspiracy or something silly like that. It's just poor form and unproffesional. It's like if someone asked you "Who were the biggest bands of 2007". Would you list off your favorite bands? Or would you list off the bands you heard the most on the radio and that won awards?
