I love how people love to villainize Nintendo for opting out of the Playstation project with Sony. But, hello, Sony wanted Nintendo to basically sign away all their rights as a 1st party developer with the project! They were essentially forcing Nintendo to be submissive to Sony.
What would YOU have done if you were Nintendo?
Nintendo wanted to beat Sega with their superior tech they would get from Sony, but in doing so they'd basically be bowing down to Sony and handing over all their property rights to them.. What would be the point of beating Sega if you had to strip yourselves of your former power in doing so?
