If they get rid of the glasses then I think it would be a big help. If you have people over to watch a film you don't want to be worrying about how many pairs of glasses you have.
The cost is the other thing holding back 3D TV. The cost of not only the TV but the glasses as well.
Get rid of the glasses and a massive barrier for 3D uptake is reduced, leaving only price which will come down in time anyway. Shame the 3DS tech likely won't be scalable to larger screens.
