Forgive me if its explained in Spirit Tracks (not played it) but haven't multiple Zeldas died already?  Isn't every first daughter of the King of Hyrule named Zelda?

yeah but this one had Zelda as  a " Ghost that will aid link across the whole game " or something along the lines, i don't remember.

Yeah, her spirit left her body, but she didn't die. It all ended well.

An no, no Zelda has ever really died in a Zelda game, iirc.
