Just something to observe, not sure what effect it will have on sales of AW though.

Here new release games normally retail for $105-$120. I think MNR's price tag is around $115. At the retailer I went to today (JB HiFi) Alan Wake was priced at $88. Occasionally 1st party PS3 titles will debut at $99 (God of War III), but I can't recall seeing anything at $88 in the first week after launch. Though I don't keep track of 360 pricing so maybe it's more common to have that price level on new releases on 360.

Even Lost Planet 2 has a >$100 pricetag for the 360 and PS3 versions.

I'm surprised anyone is doing a head to head for 2 completely different games. And I thought AW vs. Heavy Rain was a bit incongruous. I guess most people are so certain that Heavy Rain will outsell AW that there's no point in making it a match up any more.

I think AW will be a slow burner, but it's hard to get a read on how it will go in Others. Maybe it will capture the imaginations of 360 owners, but in reality online multiplayer is where 360 is at. AW II will have some sort of online and it will do a lot better.

(Completely off topic but worth noting Red Dead Redemption was totally sold out for both consoles)
