Kinda missed that whole era when Nintendo were in talks with Sony and Philips to make a CD based console, eh?
Or how they never said that discs were crap but rather they are much more easily pirated, damaged, slow and can't be written on.
As for the topic, no company in the industry has been negatively targeted in advertisements more than Nintendo. But such is the nature of advertising....it always targets what is most successful.
