Lag is due to processing time. Natal uses IR light while the PS eye uses visual light to track. You know about those 28 (?) points on body natal suppose to track. Well those points are not detected by the camera itself. The software (Cpu) has to add those points on each IR frame. To save time (reduce lag) Natal will probably have to guess some if not many of those points. This is the advantage of have something to track that is visible on camera. It requires less processing time.

So then Natal definitely guesses where the points are based on your opinion...nice to know. Obviously the camera does not track those points, it couldn't do that without the software, no camera can. but the software is still in development, on both Natal and Move, Move just appears to be further along. The eyetoy games on the other hand...no wonder it never really took off.
@strength, PSEye =/= Natal. your point is moot.
