Both are AMAZING titles.
FF8 is my 3rd least favorite FF but its still a solid 9.2/10
FF8 has a more gripping & epic story than FF9 while FF9's is more character driven & emotional. Overall I liked FF9 more but just by a bit.
Also the draw/junction system is a love or hate part of FF8.
I enjoyed FF8 much more than FF7 when I got them on PSN, so it has aged better.
Finally don't listen to what dtewi has to say about FF8, he has taken it up as his sworn enemy lol
