Thus, it is not surprising that the order here is Wii - PS3 - 360. I don't want to discount the significance of this analysis -- I made my own thread about PS3/Wii software selling better than they're given credit for -- but I think it's worth noting that these results are not unsurprising and don't necessarily mean the Wii is actually better for software sales.

The only way newer sales matter more is due to the fact that most people buy software with their hardware. However, this effect should be negligible after launch since new hardware sales are only a tiny fraction of the total userbase each week.

Agreed. If Wii wasn't restricted by supply and it was selling several million a week then maybe the results would be notably scewed but as N are resticting sales to merely very good I don't think it impacts the comparison in a meaningful way.
