It depends on the game. I found myself unwilling to kill somebody in Heavy Rain (though it did convince me to kill others), but I have no problem is going on Drake's mass murdering campaign. I also am very happy to kill the innocent civilians in God of War (they give you health!).
Mass Effect 2, also, made me think about being evil, but the achievements ensured that I was always good on my one playthrough
