Music formats do not equal effort. It can take a hell of a lot of work to make good original midi music. It's about what the artist does, not the tools they use.
I should know, I've been doing thing in my comic with less effort, but that was me, not the tools I used.
And just adding voice acting doesn't mean more effort either. I hope most of us know of games with sloppy voice acting (all of them *rimshot*).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
