I haven't really been keeping up to date with MNR, the things I've heard are "it's really good" and the contents of this thread here http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=110007&page=1#
5 of the 6 points raised there are reasons why I love Mario Kart, and it seems that this game is similar in many respects
So my questions are
How is the content creation system? Please use either LBP or Spore as reference points if possible because I've played them. Are the items actually similar to Mario Kart in how they work? How many racers are there in each race? Does the game control well? And does it use sixaxis btw? and finally, if I own and love mario Kart, will I find enough new in here to warrant a purchase? |
The content creation is more free than LBP from an aesthetic point of view, so you have more freedom to make your mod and kart look exactly like how you want than you have to customize your sackboy, but the tracks don't have near the freedom as levels in LBP. There are some simple triggers, and you have alot of control over qualities of the racing track, but you can't make anything other than a racing track.
The items work similar to DiddyKongRacing (so I've heard, I didn't play DKR enough to remember this for myself) where if you get an item, and don't use it before getting another one you can increase the weapon's level up to level three. However if you are hit by someone else's weapon yours will go down a level so it's not always best to save up.
12 racers can be in a race
I like how it controls, but it takes physics into account more than Mario Kart does so it takes a bit of practice to get used to the drifting, there is no sixaxis controls to my knowledge.
I can't answer that for you.
