Who is surprised here ?

This game was overhyped on the whole internet because it was supposed to be the "BEST GAME EVA", the BEST GFX EVA, the best survival horror game that is so good that you DO NOT HAVE the right to call it a survival horror game (thx you Remedy for this last point)

also, the game has no online multiplayer which seems to be more and more important for gamers today ...

It is released close to RDR which is getting high praising

AND the pre-orders where showing us since numerous weeks that game will not have amazing sales.

Conclusion : plz port the game to PC and I will buy it. Thx you Remedy.

Agreed.

With a sales like that, I'm sure Remedy will consider that! I mean from a business point of view, it common sense!!

The only problem is that MS likely tied Remedy to an Xbox 360 "exclusive" release for a pre-set period of time. Maybe 12 months if not more.

Less than projected Xbox sales will make a much stronger case for a delayed Windows release for Remedy (in the interest of their bottom line), which ultimately benefits all those PC gamers who were hyped for AW, only to have it yanked away to promote the Xbox platform with an exclusive in the 11th hour.

But in all likelihood, a Windows release of AW has been in the cards all along even though terms of the exclusive release forbid any discussion or acknowledgment of the port (technically the original since it was initially coded for Windows) by Remedy.

The question is how well PC gamers will warm up to a delayed "port" of an Xbox game since they were essentially snubbed by the initial release of AW. Sales could be tepid at best.

And yes, I'd rather play AW on my PC with DX11 and 1920x1080 native res, but I'm not going to wait a year to play it and have already settled for the Xbox port.

I'll pick up the Windows version if and when it's released AFTER it's been out long enough to be sold on sale in the range of $20, 18+ months from now. That is if I even care to revisit the game by then.

I think, unless any delayed PC version turned out to be particularly good or a graphics pusher, that Alan Wake would see far more muted sales assuming a release in 12 months - exactly as you say.

I was going to buy it for PC but have now played it on a friends 360.  It's likely by the time it hit PC I simply wouldn't bother picking it up.  There's no doubt the PC market has felt snubbed so that's not going to be forgotten in a rush either.

I still think that worldwide AW will sell okay, but I really think Remedy made a mistake not dropping PC far earlier and focusing on PS3/360 with their fairly equivilent power instead of putting a lot of effort into a PC version that is presumerably sitting on a shelf and probably held there due to timed agreements with MS.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
