At some point in time my family could have been from there. Blonde hair and Blue eyes is more common in Sweden than in England.

That's a bit flawed logic. It's more like the stone age population in Northern Europe including Britan, France, Germany were blonde, thousands of years ago. Then they got mixed up with darkish hair from the south, but less mixed up the further North you go (Scandinavia).

His argument was to speculate on Swedish ancestry just because he is a blonde British. I replied that it's flawed logic. Theoretically it could be so, but it's extremely unlikely.

Fact is that Scandinavian blood is very uncommon in the UK. The blondness in Britain comes from the pre-historic population, not from blonde Scandinavian immigrants. There has never been any significant migration of people from Scandinavia to Britain. The only few drops of Scandinavian blood are due to a few Britons who were raped by Vikings, but it's so little that you surely can't trace it in the current population.
