Well first of all, 290K is NA a lone. I don't know how it performed in Others but I would guess around 100K. Also, its on the PC and was more successful on the PC.

Here's a quote I found on the Wikipedia... "In October 2006, 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller announced that the game is a commercial success on both PC and Xbox 360 with combined 1 million copies sold worldwide to date.^[23]"

That quote was from back in 2006. I would presume the life time sales has surpassed 2 million.

I don't think it's more than the 1 million. The game was released in the Summer and the sales weren't too hot so the initialt shipments could have lasted a long while. So I doubt any shipments were made after October, a minor shipment at best.

Still 1 million copies in sales is okay. $20 a piece in revenue and it nearly covers a team of 100 developers to work for two years (remember that some of that money has to go to marketing). And I doubt the team for Prey 2 will need to be big.

Its sold more than 1 million. Every time it goes on sale on Steam its #1 on the top sellers. I suspect it to be closer to 1.5m at least.
