The Wii hasn't really had much all year other than MH3, Red Steel 2, and a few other budget games like Endless Ocean, Trauma Team, and No More Heroes 2. Lack of 3rd party effort, along with a lack of good 1st party titles is really stalling the Wii right now. In my mind, the Wii will probably be a 5 year console cycle. From this perspective, they just need to keep things rolling for another 1.5 years. If things get hot for the Wii again, then they can delay their next console and perhaps get a 6th year out of the Wii. However, the Wii is aging fast and the big budget gaming companies have largely passed the Wii by. Epic Mickey and Nba Jam are some of the only exceptions I can think of right now. |
Every single nintendo console, winning or losing had a 5 year cycle. Nothing new.
Or are you implying that the wii will stop selling after its 5th birthday?
