Ok.. Let's look at the evidence... As I said, PS3s are in stock at amazon.com. Go and check now it you like. I'll repeat that.. They are available at amazon. Right now.. And has been for several weeks. Meaning as of right now, I could get myself a PS3 if I wanted, with the click of a button. And so could anyone with internet access. Second, only 45,000 were sold this week. Do you really think Sony could only supply roughly 45,000 to the entire USA in a week? This is especially absurd to believe when you consider that Sony has sold almost double that amount in recent months.. So why the drastic decline in units shipped? How could Sony possibly go from shipping 90,000 per week earlier in the year, to suddenly 45,000? They may be limited a bit more from the shifting to new models, but there's no way they would only be able to ship less than 50,000 a week. The excuses of PS3 being out of stock was a bit of a stretch back in March and April, but now it's just getting downright comical. If there are shortages of PS3s, then Sony REALLY needs to get on the ball, becuase only shipping roughly 45,000 is a beyond terrible effort on their part. |
Ehm, yes i do. Heard anything from a thing that is called "just in time" production? It's holiday season and there is a lower demand for Consoles = lower production+change to new SCU's. And there can be many other problems, i.e. transportation.
Oh and Amazon gets the PS3s from target.com. I used there the "Find it at a Target store" and used a few zip codes. Over 80 to 90% of the stores don't have PS3s in their shelves and not everyone buy goods in the Internet. The supply is definitley better than in the last months, but not good enough for full availability.
