After all Wada vaguely hinted at multiplatform, he didn't specify which platforms.

Sure he did, if you know how to read between the lines. "Evaluating the possibility" = waiting to see what Microsoft offers them.

I couldn't blame them, they get MS money, the game sells decently too on XB360, why not? But if MS is so eager, they should just exploit this to not be charged for multiple discs.

you couldn't blame SE for this?

SE are getting the money now but they are also degrading their biggest franchise, the sales weren't as high as a new gen FF launch title and some FF followers also left the game and the game was heavily discounted for even the sales its getting.

what happens next gen when MS stop paying them money cause its not as big a franchise anymore, what will they do then when MS is not paying them and the FF name is degraded.

Obviously without sacrificing quality. Graphics should be scaled up or down to each console's best and it has been shown by Morrowind that even XB1, with 16MB total memory less than Wii and far inferior CPU and GPU could handle vast worlds, if the developers put the necessary efforts in it. Morrowind had a compromise, separed indoors and outdoors, but with more RAM, more CPU and GPU power, faster optical drive and the experience gained through all these years by programmers, I'm sure that even this compromise could be removed. (It should also be noted that some compromises on XB1 games were quite rushed, as initially MS announced its first console would have been far more powerful, with Athlon CPU and 128MB RAM, then they crippled the project settling for a crappy Celeron-Pentium III hybrid and 64MB RAM)

yeah HD quality games like many developers have said would be available on the Wii by 2012-2013 by taking the full power of the Wii but likewise full power will also be taken out of the HD consoles which will have even better graphics

the thing is that you can put higher quality games on lower spec platform but it needs more time to be worked on.

like if you see what CRYSIS had done,it is easy to put it on high performance PC but difficult to put it on Consoles

the reason is that when you develop an engine for a game on high spec platform, you can design lots of pre made  stuff that will be available when using the engine but with a low spec platform and use the pre designed stuff again and again, you have to do alot of it manually and individually.

so to develop high quality games on Wii is possible but it also needs more time compared to the HD platform

also even if Wii is able to produce high spec games,it will be hindered by its video output which can't output HD as HD consoles can.

and by the time Wii reaches details and quality tof current HD games,HD consoles would have moved further away

putting FF on Wii would even do SE and FF good as Wii owners will adopt it more than 360

But it wouldn't be perceived as inferior quality by Wii users, they'd get the best they can get from their HW. Scaling down polygons and the number of them used in each object isn't so hard, more care must be put scaling down textures, some automatism are possible, as they normally happen when each scene is rendered, but obviously they must ensure that the most detailed textures used for closer objects in the foreground be of the maximum possible quality on each console.

And the bolded part of what you wrote is just the base of the serious part, jokes apart, of this thread.

Obviously I totally agree that each time a developer overhypes a project, then cripples it, it degrades its franchise and although I'm not a FF fan, I hate when this happens, whatever the game.

And it's not matter of casual or hardcore, some games are casual and that's what gamers expect from them, some others are more or less hardcore and that's what is expected from them, dumbing a hardcore game down doesn't produce a casual game, it produces a dumb game that will make happy neither casuals nor hardcores, but just dumb gamers, and maybe not even them.
