Shipped vs sold. - When a manufacturer says it sold xxx number of consoles, it is referring to how many it has sold to retailers. i.e. shipped. This website as well as NPD and the various others, all estimate how many of those have actually sold to end users like you and me.
So, I am not sure of the source of your 360 point above, but I do now more recent Sony example is from what they sold to retailers (shipped) through March 2011. With that this website was within a reasonable amount of estimated sold to consumers already, so no need for an adjustment.
