The problem with Nintendo and Rockstar is that Rockstargames don't sell on Nintendo consoles. That's all there is to it. Just look at the sales at Table tennis and Manhunt. Manhunt was an expensive game to develop. I.e.g for Wii-standards. And it has sold like what, 100k in the US. It's on track for 150-200k in the US lifetime. That ain't well. And i won't even start about Table tennis, what a flop saleswise. I guess that if Manhunt 2 does well in the EU (Lets say it reaches 300k Ww, that would ensure a profit. For it has been released on 2 systems and 1 handheld). And if Bully does moderately well (Lets say 320-400k Ww) we MIGHT just see a new GTA on the Wii. Or else, we're gonna see GTA: SA stories on the Wii, there's no doubt in my mind about that one. |
Don't try that crap. You're completely ignoring the fact that those games are not well regarded by either hardcore or casual gamers. GTA is obviously a different story.
Okay, there is GTA Advance, but that's a black sheep in the series, so it's not well regarded either.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
