Are we speaking the same language? Of course I was aware of the people who called the Wii a "fad" or "gimmick". I just said that Pachter was one of those people -- although he never used such inflammatory phrasing, he clearly expected the Wii to do poorly, and then when it didn't, he kept expecting it to suddenly START doing poorly. In fact, I know of only a very few people -- let alone analysts -- who came close to predicting the Wii phenomenon. In other words, we entirely agree, but for some reason you seem to be stating this as if we don't.

Whoa, no need to get your jocks all worked up into a bunch. My fault.

It's totally fine, I was just rather confused. Let me summarize the conversation we seemed to have:

Me: Most analysts, including Michael Pacther, didn't think the Wii would do well.
You: Actually, most analysts weren't picking the Wii to win in the way it has.

I wasn't upset, just rather flabbergasted at how that conversation ended up at that point. No worries.
