The video definitely didn't seem serious or authentic with the gunshots and some of the lyrics, so I gave it a check. The song's creator said that it was a spoof. He's christian and it was at a christian event, but it was sort of a lighthearted, "we're christians that think the side hug thing is pretty silly" song. The event it was at does come down on public displays of affection though.
So yes, there's a Christian side hug, yes, it's ridiculous, but then again the Christians in this video agree with you.
But if you're bummed that your chance to rip on Christianity just evaporated... We can get back to the Pope's covering for child rapists!
