Do your parents do this when you play a really good looking videogame?

Yeah my parents were amazed by Uncharted 2's graphics as well. It was the Tibet area, though.

If I'm playing a violent game and they swing by, though, then they say the same thing over and over again: "All this killing and blood! How will you benefit from all this?! Play something else!" (of course, it's just a rant, they've no say on what I play).
