Because the DS is a good handheld just like the PS2 was a good console. I'm just saying you can't compare both product.

Just look at the price. That's a good enough difference.

 

Anyway, I know a lot of people who doesn't like handhelds (including me) simply because it's a different experience (and not a fun one). And it doesn't matter whether it's the DS or the PSP or the iPod Touch, I dislike them all. Except for Pokémon.

You have yet to give a good reason why we should consider consoles and handhelds in different categories.

Price is not a seperater of category. Cars have a large range of prices, but they are all cars and have the same purpose, to drive you around. The same is true of video game systems as people buy the system to play software. They have the same purpose so when comparing what system a consumer wants to buy, they will consider handhelds and consoles becuase they both fulfill the same goal. It is that distinction that counts.
