But just look at these two articles. That's what I mean by different market:

http://www.qj.net/qjnet/wii/average-age-of-wii-owners-is-29-says-fils-aime.html

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/31/technology/31nintendo.html?_r=1&ex=1199854800&en=7d45a4b7f9f7b29b&ei=5058&partner=IWON

It says what's the average age of Wii owners and DS owners. Huge difference. Different market.

Those articles are really out of date. "80 percent of DS owners are 8 to 16 years of age" - this's just plain wrong according to Nintendo themselves, only 30-35% of DS users are belong to this age group and this data is US only, Japan DS audience is considerably more diverse (hence penetration rate) and on top of that last survey resulsts were published a year ago, so I won't be surprised if DS US userbase now is closer to japanese. Does it mean that DS now appeals to older audience or it's just penetration rate is going up?

Really, "DS is for kids" - that's just old and out of date =)

Wait I never said DS is for kid, I just said it's the gaming device that appeals the most to childrens.
