Sony's advertising is huge in EU.Not to mention now(this past year) that ps3 is more accessible because of it's price Europeans have no reason to get a 360 over ps3 since ps3 has games that appeal more to them.
PSP is doing good because of its piracy. It's sad but it's the truth.

Not in the UK tho. I see one PS3/game ad for 3 Xbox/game ads. This is not only on TV. As for the price - Xbox Elite costs £185.00 and PS3 £250.00 (amazon.co.uk). Big difference. I think that Blu ray helps a lot and recommendations. One of my friends recently cancelled his Virgin TV subscription for Play TV which is free on PS3. Not as many channels but he saves £55/month now.

Thats a load of rubbish if you dont mind me saying.

Virgin costs £55 per month if you have a multitude of channels that he now doesnt get with PlayTV...  you are comparing apples and oranges.

There will be many reasons why the PS3 is doing well.... Playtv isnt one of them.

Play TV is a massively under-rated prodect.

Like Ldn.se's friend i didn't bother getting virgin TV (or any other service) for the same reasons, i have PlayTV and i'm saving a fuck load a month. I don't get as many channels, but i do get a built in recorder and upscaled freeview with Play TV.
