I liked EA's original pay-wall scheme that's in ME:2 and Bad Co.2 but this new one is ridiculous imo. That puts an unneeded burden on people who like to RENT sports games (like myself).

Hey, don't worry about it!

First, the industry finds a way to reduce piracy to nearly nothing in the console arena.  But that isn't enough.

Next, the industry will figure out how to kill off used game sales.  But that won't be enough.

After this, the industry will then look how to kill off game rentals from Blockbuster, etc...  But that won't be enough.  Hey, they don't get a cut of rental revenue either.

Then the industry will want to have it so you only RENT games monthly, from them, and not own them.  But that won't be enough.  That just isn't enough revenue to pay for ongoing support and bug fixes.

The industry will then want to bring back arcades where you pay to play each time you play.  And then they set the price low, but then they will look to keep raising prices on what you pay to play.

The point is the industry tolerates you renting.  They don't even want you renting.  They want you to keep paying over and over and over each time you play.

So, in this latest bit, I guess maybe piracy IS more ethical than actually no longer having a game so I can't play it.  Software breeding like rabbits is better than limited usage.
