Battlefield Bad Company 2 Sold 5 Million Copies
Even before Battlefield: Bad Company 2 went on sale on March 2, analysts were expecting it to be a hit. That objective was quickly accomplished, with publisher Electronic Arts announcing the critically acclaimed game had sold--not shipped-- 2.3 million copies globally in just two weeks.
Further evidence of the game's success surfaced in April, when the March NPD report revealed Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had sold a combined 1.276 million units in the US alone. Today, as part of its annual earnings report, EA announced that the title, developed by its Swedish studio DICE, has sold over 5 million units worldwide to date. EA released their fourth quarter and fiscal year 2010 report today showing that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold 5 million units so far. Battlefield 1943 is doing good as well with 1.5 million units sold. Thanks repi.

“We had an excellent fourth quarter, driving record-breaking non-GAAP revenue in the fiscal year,” said John Riccitiello, Chief Executive Officer. “Battlefield: Bad Company 2 outperformed, which contributed to revenue at the high end of our guidance range, and we exceeded our expectations on the bottom line.”

- Battlefield 1943™ sold over 1.5 million units to date and is the best-selling download-only game on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade.
