Hmm, I'm not so sure that that's the case. Oblivion was another title that exceeded most peoples PC's in terms of requirements, but it never really sold well on the PC despite hardware getting faster.
To top things off; like Nazna said, Crysis is majorly hyped up shooter which offers precious little in the way of the revolution we were promised, and I think that while reviewers loved it to bits, gamers felt disappointment creep up on them as they loaded it onto their rigs with teary eyes and a heart full of expectation.
This game doesn't deserve to sell well imo, and Crytek will learn a valuable lesson from all this; it's more important to impress hardcore PC gamers (which are well accustomed to good shooters) by making a fantastic game rather than impress hardware geeks by releasing a piece of software that cannot be properly run on any rig on the planet... When I play a PC game, I WANT the graphics and effects on max, that's what PC gaming is about! Shame on you Crytek...
